Rent: Can’t help you. Tam open: yes, but there is better rides. The only thing Mt Tam has going for it is the history and a good hill climb. Speed limit: well I never seen em (cops/rangers). Where to ride?: Most single track is closed to bikes in Marin County but the rides are very scenic and will work you out. One of my favorites is Olema, down Hwy 1, right into a horse ranch to Olema Valley Trail, right turn back on Hwy 1, left up Fredricks Rd (unmarked-paved-look for the cattle crossing), 6mi up (400ft to 1700), left at the top onto Bolinas Ridge Trail, follow this all the way to Sir Frances Drake Blvd, left and back down to the town of Olema. 30 miles and a great workout! I am going to Bolinas California in two weeks (right by Mt. Tam) and wanted some mountain biking info. 1) Where can I rent a good bike? 2) Is Mt Tam still open to riders? 3) If so, is the rumor of a 15mph speed limit true? 4) If so, where else should I look to ride? Any responses are appreciated. Thanks, adam If you’re not part of the steamroller, you’re part of the road.
