     well, I really didn’t want anyone to get angry over ‘that’ (it was meant ‘tongue in cheek’), but when a person explains himself by saying: "for selling items that might appeal to cyclists", …I think that ‘that’ leaves the door ‘wide open’.  perhaps,     some cyclists want ‘walkman’ radios, …or running shoes, …or scuba gear, …or water skiis, …or football equipment, or…yes, even "snowshoes".  I really don’t consider those items ‘pertinent’ to the ‘r.bicycle.m.’ —I would hazard a guess that most of us don’t.     And, as for living where it gets ‘lousy’ in the winter, I do know what you’re saying.  I grew-up on x-country skiis (and snowshoes).  One place I lived I used to pick up the mail on skiis (same for the groceries).  but,     that still doesn’t convince me that "the bicycle marketplace’ is the venue for ’snowshoes’.  As for x-training, …trust us, …we’re all quite capable of finding ‘those’ newsgroups on our own (if ‘that’ is what we want).  but,     once again, ‘humor’ was intended (I think that ‘that’ should have been understood).  and,     yes, …real clever: "Have you landed on your head a few too many times?"  I supposed ‘that’ was yet another attempt (as were the snowshoes) at being "appropriate".         ’nuff said,             bill g. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Reading from the minutes of our last meeting, I note that "W Griffin" >  are these the ’spd’ or the ‘Look’ compatible snow shoes? >It appears that you mean to imply that this post was inappropriate for this >newsgroup? It appears that you mean to imply that this post was inappropriate for this newsgroup? Have you landed on your head a few too many times or are you just completely unfamiliar with the concept of cross training? Some us live in places where the biking gets more than a little lousy in the next few months, and snowshoeing is one of several viable alternatives to just sitting on a fucking turbo trainer watching our TdF videos. My take on this group has always been that it is a forum for buying and selling items that might appeal to cyclists, not just bicycles and components. (Oops, just noticed that r.b.m. wasn’t the only group this was posted in; oh, well, I don’t think it was inappropriate in any of them, although it is dangerously close to spam.) >Hey, when you’re in the deep stuff, use Tubbs Snowshoes!
