Question:
I’d point the finger at the glucotrol. All sulfonylurea drugs are capable of producing severe hypoglycemia, especially in combo with exercise. Do you check your BG before exercise? If I understand what I’ve read, the glucotrol really starts to kick in at about the 2 hr mark. You may do better exercising at a different time, or taking the glucotrol at a different time, but you need to work with your Dr. on this one. I personally like Glucophage. It works totally differently, by decreasing liver glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose, and increasing insulin sensitivity. It doesn’t cause lows by having your body push out more insulin. Again, work with your Dr. A few links (each more mind numbing than the last…): http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/metformi_cp.htm http://www.rxlist.com/scripts/patient/piumore.pl?mononum=628&order=0&… http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/glip.htm Beth Please defur me to reply by email T2 12 years, Glucophage, diet, and exercise

My doctor says I am on the onset to type 2 and am "RE-active HyPOglycimic. For me this means is I do not have any insulin creation until I eat. Then a create as much insulin++++ to get rid of the sugar from the carbs I just eat, making me loose BS to much lower than before I even ate. How much mega amounts of insulin I create is relative to the carbs/sugar I just consumed. If this is your problem too, this means you can never "carbo load" and like me are suppose to "s…p…r…e…a…d… those carbs out over the course of a day in about 5-6 very mini meals…… " – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->b > All I am taking is 5 mg Glucatrol in the morning, exercise is usually > one to two hours after a 6 carb breakfast. > Anyone got any ideas or advice? > jay
