Exercise R Us » Exercising » A good doc visit today- finally!!!!!

Question:

I started back on my Glucosamine C. this a.m. also!!!!!! The Pain doc mentioned getting some exercise in a pool – but right now I can’t hardly even stand or walk – Why do they always mention exercise? I  WAS exercising when the pain continued to grow over the last 8 months.  I was walking daily- anyway- I have been very sedentary last couple mos but it’s too hard to move. I was doing some stretching- oh well. He also said that he felt it was RA affecting my back – not OA- that I was "too young" to have OA affecting me that bad – It was nice to be told I’m too young for SOMETHING !! haha!! But I didnt think RA affected your lower back- maybe your neck – but not the back? Am I wrong on this one? Tks – love you guys!!! After months of being referred to this doc and that doc – I finally had a good visit today with a doc that seemed to care and will help. He is a pain specialist. He didnt do the epidural shot today but just examined me and talked with me. He is changing me from Darvocet to something else (I left the scrip at the pharmacy so no idea what it is). He is also switching me from amitriptiline to something- Neurotion? or something like that. I’ll pick up the meds tomorrow morning. I go back Dec 4 for the epidural steroid shot thing- He will sedate me – I had a big worry about would the shot hurt…so I feel more at ease about that too !! Anyway, just wanted to post about a good visit- I have had so many bad ones and felt  like I was caught in "Referral Hell" !!  As I am sure most of you can relate!!! Tks for being here you all !! Kim,   Please don’t worry about the epidural.  They really and truly are not bad. I wasn’t sedated for any of the 3 I had, only the area around the shot was deadened. Anne AAC/AAF/AFBV62.0844.AZ http://www.tckworld.com/opfoot
