Exercise R Us » Exercise Training » Constructive Conscious Combining of Lifestyle variables

Question:

In some culture’s people combine lifestyle variables to aid bodily functions. For example, when in the East l noticed that after the evening meal my hosts would take a gentle evening walk. When l asked why they did this, l got the reply that the walk after the evening meal aided digestion. In the West, we are familiar with the combining of lifestyle variables to enhance physical performance. For example, the endurance athlete who combines a high carbohydrate diet with endurance training or the strength athlete who combines a high protein diet with resistance training. Both the examples above, from the East and West, are conscious combining of lifestyle variables. Many people who achieve a lasting remission without the aid of surgery or drugs often talk about their new lifestyle. This new lifestyle they have constructed consciously and involves the combining of lifestyle variables that works for them. Lifestyle variables like moderate exercise, eating balanced and varied meals, leaving longer gaps between ‘proper’ meals, learning relaxation technique’s. How these lifestyle variables are combined is significant. Navid

Response:

Thanks, that is a good explanation of what you mean by lifestyle changes. I’m sure there are a lot of people both here and elsewhere who could benefit by examining their habits and seeing where positive changes could result in better health. Regards, Jeff 2
