Exercise R Us » Biking » The Outland as a cross-country steed
Question:
For those out there that have put some miles on the Outland, give me some rider feedback. How is this bike on the hill climbs over rocky terrain and trails full of roots? Over the same type of terrain over fast singletrack downhill, how does it track. Tell me your likes and dislikes. Would you place a Girvin or IRD front fork on this bike over a Rock Shock Indy?
Response:

I dunno what an IRD shock is, but I’d place a Girvin there over an Indy any day — so long as it’s a ‘97 Girvin. (The 96s are fine, that’s what I have, but you have to do a lot of tuning to get them running the way they should. For more info see "http://world.std.com/~jimf/biking/vector.html".) Of course the Indy is a lot cheaper than the Girvin…. jim frost — http://world.std.com/~jimf
