Question:
This year I’ve gone with Sun CR18. At 445 gr. thet are just 20 more than the 17a and a lot more durable. Suns are always less expensive than Mavics too. Roan — Roan Hurst Partner and Director (613) 730 0891 Ottawa Valley Off Road Adventures http://www.wp.com/ovora Guided Mt. Biking and City Tours

I like the 217, I’ve had good luck on it. I say go with the cheapest 217, they work like any other 217. Jason "I like what I can get cheap" Jimenez

My Mongoose came with Araya RM-17 rims. I have beaten them to hell on rocky, rooty singletrack downhills, without any suspension, for three years and they rarely even go out of true. I don’t know how much they cost, though, since I’ve never had to replace them. Hello everyone, I just potatoe chipped another rim and was wondering if anyone could suggest a light strong rim for cross country use. I was riding mavic 231 and looking to get a mavic 217. However there is now the 217, 217 cd, 217 etc. etc. etc. What are the differences other than the fact that one is ceramic coated (which not too many people can afford). Thanks in advance
