Question:

I’m going to be in the Lac Du Flamebeau area of northern Wisconsin, is there any good single track riding in that area?

there any good single track riding in that area? I am stuck in southern Wisconsin so I haven’t been able to make it to the Chequamegon Nation Forest personally, but it is supposed to be pretty nice (190 MILES OF TRAILS, some fire roads, some single-track). The group to contact is probably CAMBA: Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association P.O. Box 141 Cable, WI 54821. This is also the location of the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival (largest off-road bicycle event in the world), be warned though: registration is limited to 2,500 persons (and I believe this is attained). Good luck, Aaron

Believe it or not, the Wisc Dept of Tourism puts out a biking guide that’s excellent. It has all the official mtb trails with maps, which is nice.  Did you know there is a book with supposedly all the off-road trails?  It’s sold at most bike shops.   I don’t know where Lac Du Flamebeau is, I was up at Nicolet Nat’l forest; good fire roads, not much singletrack.  You should check out the mounds on your way (near Neillsville, they have a race there, the Buzzard Buster) awesome views.
