go to http://www.getabike.com and check under various years to see if the components match up. Hint: most likely not last year since I think they did not come with rock shocks in the ‘98 model year. try e-mailing giant. http://www.giant-bicycle.com

This seems like a very decent bike. Your local Giant dealer might know where the bike comes from. A friend of mine just bought a Specialized Mountain Dew for about $275 cdn. This is actually a Hardrock which was given away in a contest. The bike was too small for the contest winner, and so it was traded in. A great way to get a good bike for less cash. Chico

As you are about to find out I am extremely new to the whole Mtn Biking scene,None the less I have a question I am hoping someone out there can help me with. After reading many, many many articles on starting out I.E Bikes,Sizing,Training and so on it came time for me to purchase a bike of sorts,I exhausted all local sources and resorted to internet classifieds(as I have in the past for other things) in which I happened upon a guy selling a New Giant Iguana SE($350.00)he had won through a radio station contest,My question is,How can I find out what year it is?The guy I bought it off of didn’t have anything available other than the claim number to pick it up,I called the radio station to see if they had any idea and they had no clue other than who had won it.Is this a decent bike to start out on and does the price seems reasonable(if it is fairly new)?Any input would be helpful. Description: Seems to be polished aluminum(silver in color),Black GIANT sticker w/red outline. Rapid fire shifter. Rock shocks. Basically Shimano everything else.
