The Outdoor Life Network cycling coverage is on Thursday evenings (8pm eastern time) and Saturday afternoons (2pm eastern time). If you call 1-800-OUTDOOR, they will send you their monthly program schedule, no charge.  /m

Outdoor Life Network covers some events too.  Hell, they sponsored the Tour of the Rockies.  I’ve never had a chance to watch though, so I don’t know how good the coverage is.  You can bet that when the sponsor the event, though, it’s probably not in that 2am time slot. Peace!

They do? I saw it a couple times in the afternoon around 4:30-5:30 when I was flipping channels. (since there’s nothing on at that time around here) I don’t like the coverage, though. Too MTV-ish with the camera angles, and they never show the course long enough, they keep cutting around. I like to see the same corner and see how each different rider handles it, but I also like for them to closely follow one particular rider as he travels the course.  Instead, I get two guys on a corner, but to the interbike show, a blimp shot of a tiny little mtber on a course that looks way too easy from up there, cut to some chick with a nose ring talking about how hard it was to get to the top (in the men’s race!)  well you get the picture… Not *all* of us are 15 year old boys in a testosterone frenzy. Some of us like to sit and watch tv without getting dizzy and nauseated. jn

I’m not sure that the MTB races I’ve seen on ESPN2 do the sport any justice.  I love racing and MTBing, but these things are boring.

There’s a show called B3 (biking, blading, boarding??), but I’m not sure if it was on ESPN2 or not…. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> In 1995 when MB took off commercially you’d see it regularly on ESPN > or > some > other cable channel. > Are they still televising MB regularly?

What level of cable service do you need for this "Outdoor Life Channel?"

Response:

I get Outdoor LIfe Network on my "standard" level of service, one level up from broadcast-only channels.  The standard level includes CNN, Weather Channel, ESPN, NICK, TBS, etc.   The next level up is the premium services, HBO, Disney, etc. On DirecTV, Outdoor Life Network is included in the [expensive] sports package. Outdoor Life Network has the cycling stuff on Thurs evenings also, repeated on Saturday afternoon.  /m – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> > In 1995 when MB took off commercially you’d see it regularly on ESPN or some > > other cable channel. > > Are they still televising MB regularly? > Check out the Outdoor Life Channel on Saturday afternoon about 2:00. > Fattrax is a great show.  And they cover many races as well. > Mike >What level of cable service do you need for this "Outdoor Life Channel?"
