You know, having a bunch of people who share the same love for mountain biking to ride with all the time is the thing I look forward to the most. Sure I love to race and all, but going out with your buds or racing together for fun is what really makes mountain biking fun. You should definitely pursue this. What I did when I started a club at my highschool was find some people as motivated as you are to help. YOU CAN’T DO IT ALONE. Get a couple teachers to sponsor your club, then get a couple buddies together who you know will stick with you and put up posters for a first meeting to see what they all want to do. Some may want to go ride, while others may want to race. Designate people to head up both. Next step is to get some club jerseys so that everyone feels like a part of a team or club. Have car washes, bike swaps. Get a local shop to sponsor the club and try to get shop time to work on your bikes and learn things from the employees. There’s tons you can do, but most importantly keep it fun, and try to keep events regular. Don’t promise anything you might not be able to do during the year. Good luck, and hope this helps you out. Yes. And if your school doesn’t help you out to start with, try putting some sort of team together any way – maybe your motivation will convert your school later
. See if you can get a bit of space somewhere to build a few practice obstacles etc. Richard
