I agree with you here on the dead horse bit.  Mike has continuously displayed to us it is not the earth and wildlife he is trying to save, but his hiking trails that now have bikers on them. I don’t disagree with his views as much as I have given him a hard time. I would actually agree with him if he had some form of evidince to verify his preachings.  He has supplied no evidence, no verification, NOTHING!  This, I have a very difficult time with.  It’s like me trying to convince everybody the earth is flat because I read it in this book by some "expert".  The day you can get a room full of "experts" to agree on anything is the day we stop learning. All of his blabing is based on what books are telling him as well as his own extrapolations that are unverified . He seems to be easily convinced in this area.   IMHO, he is looking too hard for answers that are beyond his comprehension. Man has been in conflict with the environment long before we were riding our bikes in the woods.  We are not the source of the problem or even a significant contributing factor. Prove to me that I am killing off wildlife by riding where I do.  Untill then, you are just some angry hiker that now has to share a trail with a bicycle. Once again our pal Mike here has demonstrated his inability to properly support and debate his extreme views.  He has lowered himself to the level of bickering, namecalling, and dodging past false claims.  I have even noticed him lying in certain instances.  All of which he denies but non the less, has done. Anyone else find this one of the more boring and unproductive threads in a usually resourcefull newsgroup.  I must admit it is fun ripping apart his posts. All in thanks to Mike.  He has accomplished so much here hasn’t he.  >;( I hope after reading this post as well as others he has so generously graced us with here, that you realize his level of expertise and understanding of a subject he has little working knowledge of. Remember, it is not wise to speak specifically about a subject you only posses general basic knowledge.  This hasn’t stopped Mike though. PS, I don’t think he would make a very good salesman, he isn’t very convincing is he.   RH
